Practice Pointer – Iceberg Analogy

They say that a picture paints 1000 words. Using analogies in our communication is a powerful way to get our message understood because it puts the message into a context that the client can relate to. Whenever I see this iceberg picture, it always reminds me of the first time I saw it smartly framed in a practice. In hand-written words on the side of the picture, it stated, “This is what you feel” above the water and “This is what we work on” below the water. This analogy still works for me on several levels.
