“There is no limit to the next level of your success in business”

Often practices report that they can’t understand why they have come to a plateau or even gone backwards. By checking in on limiting beliefs, you can free up your practice to move to new heights.
What can limit you in your practice?
It could be that you and your team are blaming certain circumstances on an undesirable result, i.e. an economic situation or a media attack. The bottom line is, someone has to take RESPONSIBILITY, no matter what the “fault” is. You, the associate, you, the Chiropractic Assistant, or you, the Principle is the person who needs to take responsibility. Often the reason this responsibility is shunned or avoided is because of limiting beliefs.
Traditionally, limiting beliefs have been described as thoughts that stop us from moving forward in certain situations.
These thoughts usually stem from an underlying belief about OURSELVES.
Foundational beliefs can surface as:
“I’m not enough.”
“I’m not good enough.”
“I’m not worthy.”
“I’m not worthy of love.”
and more …
The limiting beliefs above can cause people to retract into their comfort zone and block them from moving forward. This can actually be observed in their language (“I can’t.”) and in their posture (head hung down, etc). I have observed another aspect of limiting beliefs which can be as damaging or even more damaging than above …”I don’t need to.”
This can also be observed in language tone (arrogance) and in posture (head extra high so they actually look over you or through you and chest puffed out). This ‘tangent’ from the traditional limiting beliefs can manifest as:
“I’m too good.”
“I’m above that.”
“I don’t need to do that.”
And much, much more!!!
This type of limiting belief can inhibit the person from actually doing what is necessary. They even stop doing the small things that are crucial in business, often described as the one percenters.
This offshoot/tangent of limiting beliefs can lead to those people saying ‘I’m above doing first adjustment calls’ or ‘I don’t need to do workshops’. This type of attitude can very quickly open up cracks in the practice and their success, along with their clients, fall through the cracks!
The above definition of limiting beliefs says it exactly how it is. If you have a belief that you are not good enough or too good to hold lifestyle workshops then you don’t do them (you are inhibited). Workshops conducted to add value to clients can build retention and referrals so, in this example, you ‘impoverish’ your practice.
These thoughts may be uncomfortable for you (and me) yet this is the place to start the change. Personal growth work and coaching can be the best support to clear beliefs. You can also make a start to clear these beliefs by following these steps:
- Realise you are not where you want to be.
- Be willing to get uncomfortable.
- STOP, reflect, and meditate on where you are and where you want to be.
- Follow the five steps to success:.
1. KNOW YOUR OUTCOME
Be Very Specific.
You must include very accurate time lines-dates.
3. ACTION STEPS
List in order of priority all steps necessary to achieve your outcome.
4. MONITOR THE RESULTS OF YOUR ACTIONS
Constantly check your progress.
5. IF YOUR RESULTS ARE LESS THAN DESIRED MODIFY YOUR ACTIONS
Continue this loop until the desired results are achieved.
On reviewing these steps, you will see number 2 is missing. The second step is the MOST important:
2. WHO DO I HAVE TO BECOME TO ACHIEVE THIS OUTCOME?
What changes must occur to myself to position me/us for this outcome?
Something has to CHANGE if you want to eliminate a limiting belief.
To create a set of empowering beliefs that are congruent with your goals, you have to become the person who is willing to CHANGE.
This requires you to take on new beliefs:
- Accept that “RESPONSIBILITY for change rests in MY HANDS”
- Know that “CHANGE happens INSTANTLY when I commit”
- “CHANGE NOW!”
When you accept these beliefs as being your truth, then you can begin working through belief transformation.
When you are ready to transform your beliefs, then you need to GET TO WORK!!!!! Put a rocket under yourself and explode into a new empowered YOU.
How to Eliminate / Annihilate your limiting beliefs
- Recognise and own your limiting belief
- Write it down
- Cancel it out or tear it up or even burn it
- Write your NEW belief
- Feel your new belief, embody it
- Affirm your new belief
- Look for evidence of your new belief being true
- Read your affirmation about this new belief out loud for at least 30 days in a row.
- Find evidence of your new belief being true
- Find more evidence
- Journal the process
Instead of feeling stuck and limited you have the choice to DECIDE to create new beliefs to empower yourself and your business.
