A former jackaroo and draughtsman from Maitland, New South Wales, Matt won individual and team gold medals at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992 in eventing and equestrian. 8 years later, he won team gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
He is now retired from riding, however he still stays active in his field through coaching and commentating at a very high level. Matt currently runs coaching clinics throughout Queensland and New South Wales.
Matt shares with coaches Clinton McCauley and Richard Mitton his journey to the top and his success strategies and mindset that got him there.
Matt was inspired to work towards winning his gold medals for Australia from a young age. He talks about the challenges along his journey and how he would turn a negative into a positive. Matt discusses his philosophy of never giving up.
