How many people have you heard say “Once you go to a chiropractor, you have to keep going back.”?
How do you address this common misconception and stumbling block to people commencing care?
Remember, teaching is from the outside in while education is from inside out. Three quality questions may help you unlock a new belief in your skeptical new client:
“Let me start by addressing your concern. Once you see a chiropractor you DEFINITELY DO NOT have to keep coming back but let me ask you this:
- “How long do you have to keep eating healthy food? (Pause) Most of us don’t do it perfectly but we know that good food will always help us to be our healthiest.”
- “How long do you need to get enough sleep? (Pause) You can get away with less sleep for a while but we all know it’s going to catch up with you right?”
- “And how long do you need to get regular exercise? (Pause) Again, you can get by for a while with no formal exercise but you know as well as I do that it is going to take a toll eventually if you don’t exercise regularly”
“Chiropractic care is no different to your other health choices. I believe that your body will function better under care than not under care. This is well researched. How long you choose to benefit from chiropractic care will always be your choice.”
