- Did you know that there is a difference between block booking and cluster booking?
- Could your appointment book run more smoothly?
Block booking is essential to create and maintain flow and focus. Add cluster booking to your procedures and this creates efficiency and increases productivity for a more constructive day.
BLOCK BOOKING is the procedure where the appointment book is divided into blocks with special areas allocated for all extended appointments.
The policy to support this is, all CAs, ONLY schedule long appointments in this area. The extended area needs to be identified by a different colour background on the appointment book for example, a green area.
It is essential that CAs be clear on the procedure, that is: ‘All appointments that are longer than an adjustment time, MUST be booked in this area.’ Long appointments include New Clients, Report Of Findings, Progressive and Comparative Examinations, Re-examinations, and Re-xrays. They also include long visits for people who require more than the set adjustment time.
The foundational premise behind block booking is to have the appointment book prepared where specific times are allocated for extended appointments and specific times for adjustments.
Note: Appointments within the blocks must be cluster booked together.
CLUSTER BOOKING refers to the booking of appointments within these blocked areas.
Cluster booking works like a magnet, attracting each appointment to the one that already exists. For example, if a chiropractor adjusts three clients in fifteen minutes, the CA would schedule three adjustments at 10.00am before scheduling any adjustments at 9.45am or 10.15am. It is important to note here that 9.45am time and 10.15 am times are UNAVAILABLE until 3 people are scheduled across at 10am.
The foundational premise behind cluster booking is to always, ALWAYS book ACROSS, never up or down until the line across is FILLED!
Everyone seems to be of the same opinion that when the appointments are flowing and booked together, the energy is higher and focus is easier.
I personally believe the healing quotient is higher when the energy is up, with the team in sync and especially when correct booking supports the Chiropractor to be more focused and in present time consciousness.
