A common question that is asked in coaching calls is “What can I do to solve the problem of clients missing appointments, cancelling appointments, or not sticking to their program of care?”

Whenever this situation comes up, the first questions I ask the client are:
xxxx
“When was your own last adjustment?”
“How regularly are you getting adjusted?”
“Do you have a schedule of chiropractic care that you personally follow?”

The reason I ask these questions is that very commonly your practice is a reflection of you and your own life. If you do not have a schedule of care, cancel your own adjustment if something comes up, or don’t get adjusted at a reasonable frequency, you will find that your clients will do the same. It can be called ‘practising what you preach’ or ‘walking your talk’. The general concept is that for you to have a practice where your clients follow their care plan, then you will need to do the same.

Ensure that everyone on your chiropractic team is on a schedule of care which includes progressive and comparative exams and any appropriate testing such as X-rays. Congruency is the key. If your practice statistics are showing some problems in this area, take a look at what you and your team are doing regarding their own care.
