Doug has served the chiropractic profession through CAA, ASRF and State Registration Board roles.
He has served the community through his local church and through chiropractic to a local Indigenous community group.
Doug is one of the most passionate Chiropractic speakers in Australia.
Doug grew up in Bettendorf, Iowa, a town adjoining Davenport, which is the home of the “Fountain Head”, the Palmer College of Chiropractic (PCC). He and his family attended a local church that also included Palmer students and their families. His mother relates an early experience at age 4 where he could not walk after a fall and Chiropractic helped. As well, other episodes of acute lower back pain by age 15 responded remarkably well to Chiropractic care and a tremendous idea began to grow. Health could be viewed proactively rather than reactively.
After graduating from PCC in 1983, he arrived in Western Australia with his young family on a 3 year “plan” to gain experience and grow as a Chiropractor. He never left and Perth, WA is now “home” but even more opportunities would be ahead. A chronic wrist injury became too painful to remain in full time practice. Being far too young to retire, Doug was in a predicament about what to do.
His path is clear and his eyes are fixed on participating and serving in this fantastic profession as long as God gives him breath.
He also has participated in the expansion Powerful Practices International as other coaches have joined. As a Senior coach, he enjoys the teamwork, brainstorming, and synergy that exists.
